Fresh from last weekend’s performance at the 86th Annual Academy Awards, Pharrell Williams has stepped onto Australian shores ahead of this weekend’s Future Music Festival in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and two special headline shows in Brisbane and Perth. Due to unprecedented demand, the G I R L star’s Brisbane sideshow is being upgrading to a bigger venue.
Pharrell’s Brisbane show slated to take place on Wednesday, 12th March at The Marquee in RNA Showgrounds is being upgraded to the Riverstage venue. Current tickets for the original venue, will be accepted at Riverstage while some extra tickets for the new venue are on sale now until sold out.
Just this week Pharrell released the long-anticipated album G I R L, his first solo album in eight years which features guests like Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys and Daft Punk. Joining Pharrell at his upcoming Brisbane show is the Harlem Shake maestro Baauer, the trap producer who landed the most streamed song of 2013, clocking in a giant 438,450,000 streams of the ear-worm track.
Also joining the Pharrell Brisbane bill is triple j presenter and DJ Nina Las Vegas, host of triple j’s House Party every Saturday from 6pm as well as Mix Up Exclusives from 9pm. Nina Las Vegas brings exclusive mixes from some of the biggest names in the international dance game to triple j listeners.
Having already kicked off a massive first weekend in Brisbane and Perth, the next three stops on the Future Music Festival train will be Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide this weekend. Check out the full lineup here.
