Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden Co-Headline Tour Up Next?

Nine Inch Nails are presently in the country as part of a massive co-headline tour with Queens of the Stone Age. While speaking to Triple J early last week, QOTSA frontman Josh Homme discussed his desire to see more co-headline tours and it looks as though his peer in NIN took heed.

“For the last few years I’ve been asking why don’t bands co-headline together, why don’t they do something?” Homme told The Doctor, adding that co-headline tours featuring a restricted number of bands could build solidarity and serve as an alternative to major festivals with bloated lineups.

Now, as The PRP reports, Live Nation briefly listed a co-headlining date in Dallas, Texas featuring Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden, set for Sunday, 17th August 2014. Soon after the listing was pulled from the site, both bands shared similar videos via their official Instagram accounts.

The cryptic videos each featured a rapidly edited series of photos featuring various US cities and venues set respectively to Nine Inch Nails’ Black Noise and Soundgarden’s My Wave, from 1994’s Superunknown, which the band are set to perform in full at the upcoming SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Nine Inch Nails’ co-headline tour with Queens of the Stone Age was similarly teased before an official announcement was made, with each band sharing similar images via their Twitter accounts. Justin Timberlake recently employed the Instagram tactic to tease his upcoming Australian tour.
