Watch: Lily Allen Play ‘Sheezus’ Material Live For The First Time

Footage has emerged of the Lily Allen comeback in full swing, with the English singer-songwriter debuting material from her forthcoming third studio album Sheezus at London’s Royal Albert Hall earlier this week.

On the night of Tuesday, 1st April, Allen performed at an event called City Rocks, for the UK children’s charity Coram Trust. Although she played older radio hits like Smile and The Fear, Allen also performed new songs Our Time, Air Balloon and Hard Out Here live for the very first time. Check out the amateur footage below, as well as a behind-the-scenes clip of Allen discussing the new material prior to the show.

Lily Allen’s comeback has been fraught with controversy, with the singer claiming that the music industry has been stifling her creative voice, positing that “men get credit for female pop success”, blaming her label and radio stations for playing her “rubbish” singles and even defending herself against feminist critics.

Lily Allen will launch her new album Sheezus with a one-off gig at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Monday, 28th April. It will be her first headline performance in four years. The album is set for release on 2nd May in Australia.
