Muse, St. Vincent Cover Nirvana’s ‘Lithium’

This past Saturday marked the 20th anniversary of Kurt Cobain‘s untimely death and amongst the many tributes were those from fellow artists, paying homage to the musical legacy the Nirvana frontman helped create. Two such artists were space rockers Muse and indie darling St. Vincent who each delivered a cover of the grunge standard Lithium.

“Someone great died 20 years ago. This next song is for Kurt Cobain,” Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy announced during their headlining set at Lollapalooza in Sao Paulo, Brazil, before launching into a blistering crowd sing-along of the Nevermind track.

Similarly, in another part of the globe, art-rock impressionist St Vincent, also delivered a scorching version of the grunge anthem, paying a fitting tribute to the late Nirvana frontman during her concert in Chicago.
