Are Celebrities Getting Paid To Attend Coachella?

Tickets to this year’s Coachella festival sold out in under three hours and while those who missed out may have to fork over hundreds of dollars above market price for the few passes floating around online, it’s the celebrities who will be paid the big bucks to attend this year’s event.

New York Daily News reports, Glee star and now solo pop singer Lea Michele is set to earn $20,000 from french clothing label Lacoste when she dons their goods rocking out at the music festival while fellow high-school singing alum Vanessa Hudgens will be paid $15,000 in a deal with McDonald’s.

According to Billboard, both those companies are planning to host their own parties during the festival, Lacoste is holding its 5th Annual Desert Pool Party while McDonald’s is presenting a daytime soiree, so it’s likely the celebs’ deals include attending those bashes.

The Daily News also reports that not all of Hollywood’s stars have finalised their sponsorship deals and are still looking at cashing in on the annual music festival. Breaking Bad star and all round good dude Aaron Paul is reportedly asking for $15,000 and at least two VIP passes to the festival and Kate Bosworth is demanding double that price.

One third of the now defunct Jonas Brothers, Joe Jonas, is seeking somewhere under $20,000 for his presence at the event, while British fashion blogger Louise Roe wants $5,000 and three tickets.

Canadian indie darlings Arcade Fire, histrionic space rockers Muse and reunited hip hop crew Outkast will headline the 2014 Coachella Festival, joining a strong Aussie contingent of Flume, Jagwar Ma, Empire Of The Sun, The Preatures, Flight Facilities and Anna Lunoe. NZ’s Lorde and The Naked And Famous.

An LA-based denim company confirmed to Billboard that figures can go as high as $50,000 for Coachella-attending celebs. The festival kicks off this weekend in California, on 11th-13th April, plus the following weekend of 18th-20th April. Check out the full lineup here.
