Peaches Geldof Autopsy Results Inconclusive

Police say an autopsy on Peaches Geldof, who was found dead in her British home two days ago, is inconclusive “pending toxicology tests”. They say an investigation into her death will continue, but it may take weeks before the results of a toxicology test can be added to the report for the coroner.

The second daughter of Band Aid founder and Boomtown Rats musician Bob Geldof was found dead at her home in Kent on Monday. Police said they were treating the 25-year-old’s death as “non-suspicious but unexplained”.

Peaches Geldof’s mother, Paula Yates, died in September 2000 of an accidental drug overdose when Peaches was 11. She grew up under the scrutiny of the Britain’s press, who capitalised on her teenage antics and told the media in 2012 that it took her many years to come to terms with her mother’s death.

In recent years, Peaches Geldof worked as a TV presenter, writer, fashion model and mother, who was a strong advocate of “attachment parenting”. In her final column for Mother and Baby magazine, published posthumously, Peaches wrote that she was “happier than ever”.

She said that while she once lived a life of “wanton wanderlust…lost in a haze of youth and no responsibilities”, with “nothing stopping me from having constant fun”, that life became “boring” and her two children “became her entire existence”, saving her from a life of “pure apathy”.

“I had the perfect life – two beautiful babies who loved me more than anything. It was, and is, bliss,” she wrote poignantly. “I’m happier than ever. Right now life is good. And being a mum is the best part of it.”

Peaches and musician husband Thomas Cohen had two sons, Astala and Phaedra. Cohen said, that his “beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons.” he vowed to “bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day.” Adding, “We shall love her forever.”

Peaches’ sister, model and TV star Pixie Geldof has canceled her scheduled DJ set at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California, in the wake of her older sister’s untimely death.

The only Geldof sibling to publicly comment on Peaches’ death was older sister Fifi Geldof, who wrote on Instagram yesterday along with a photo of them as children, “My beautiful baby sister. Gone but never forgotten. I love you, Peaches x.”

After Peaches’ death Sir Bob Geldof released a statement saying his family’s suffering was “beyond pain”.“She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us,” he said. “How is this possible that we will not see her again?”
