Paul Dempsey Goes Acoustic On Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’

Following on from last month’s announcement that Something For Kate will embark on an epic 20th anniversary tour this July, frontman Paul Dempsey recently went solo at the studios of Triple M, where he lent his acoustic chops to a heartfelt rendition of Miley Cyrus‘ hit single Wrecking Ball.

Having previously covered cuts by Bruce Springsteen and others while on tour, Dempsey took on Cyrus’ track as part of The One Percenters‘ — Matt Tilley and Joe HildebrandSong Remains The Same challenge, and did a pretty stellar job of bringing out the tenderness in the song’s lyrics.

Dempsey and bandmates Clint Hyndman and Stephanie Ashworth will soon be hitting the road to celebrate 20 years as Australian rock institution, with the new tour set to coincide with a reissuing of the band’s entire back catalogue on vinyl, deluxe CD, and iTunes, a short film, and a book.
