Disturbed frontman David Draiman is the subject of a new parody video which plays on his various nu-metal idiosyncrasies.
Cheekily titled “The Greatest Hit Of Disturbed”, the clip (below) runs like an infomercial, and features a few Dariman-esque items, from the singer’s straitjacket and Hannibal Lecter mask to his chin rings and his love for a good “Yuh-muh-nuh!”
Directed by Matthew Scott Hunter, and featuring Draiman look-alike Brandon Muller, the parody highlights Draiman’s unique vocal phrasings with a lot of “yuh-nuh-muh-yuh’s”, all whilst taking on Disturbed classics like Down With The Sickness and Liberate.
The clip is also backed by a narrator who provides lines like, “With their unique style and self-imposed limited creativity, no man has ever done more with less than Disturbed,” and “This is the definitive collection for fans of repetitive vocal phrasing.”
Published by YouTube channel NonRandom NonSense, the clip does come with a disclaimer, “We actually like Disturbed even more than Linkin Park. It’s fun to poke fun of things you love”.
Embracing the clip’s parodic style, Draiman himself has now reacted to the clip via Disturbed’s official Facebook page, sharing a link to the video and calling it “FUCKING HYSTERICAL…LOL.”
A similar parody was leveled against Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor recently. It was called This Is A Trent Reznor Song.
