Irish balladeer and r’n’b-inspired multi-instrumentalist James Vincent McMorrow stepped into triple j studios this morning and, as we’ve come to expect from the sky-scraping, falsetto-wielding musician, he delivered a stunning performance, taking on Lana Del Rey‘s Ultraviolence single West Coast.
Showcasing his impressive range and piercing falsetto, McMorrow transformed the Del Rey tune into a haunting and captivating melody, while retaining the r’n’b beat synonymous with his particular genre-bending style.
McMorrow is fresh from a sold out show at the Sydney Opera House as a part of VIVID Live and has just completed a national tour, where he brought his well-received second album Post Tropical to stages across the country.
