Watch Meg Mac’s Stunning Broods Cover On ‘Like A Version’

Powerhouse Melbourne singer-songwriter Meg Mac dropped by triple j today to perform for the station’s much-loved Like A Version covers series, delivering a soulful and stunning rendition of New Zealand duo Broods‘ track Bridges.

Following a powerful performance of her own track, Every Lie, the young siren offered her sweet pop and soul influenced vocals to the New Zealand duo’s synth-filled track, which featured on their self-titled debut album released earlier this year.

Speaking to triple j’s Matt and Alex, the young singer also detailed her penchant for dressing up animals in human clothing. Pointing to her collaborating vocalist, the songstress said “making animals look like humans” is their “favourite thing in the whole world”.

It’s not just an abstract obsession either, it’s something they practice on their own dog. “Once we entered this ‘dogs wearing hats page’ and she got more Facebook likes than my whole music page in one hour,” said Mac. Following this stunning performance, that record may just change.

The lass known as Megan McInerny to her mum was tipped as part of triple j’s Next Crop list after winning the Unearthed Falls Festival competition last year, tagging her as one to watch in 2014. With this cover, and her performance of original track Every Lie, it’s clear she’s taking that title pretty seriously.
