After a short stint in the country at the beginning of October, The Brunettes have been invited back onto our shores to play with Whitley on his national tour. The invitation couldn’t be at any better timing, with their lastest album “Paper Dolls” set for release through Good Red/Shock today.
The Brunettes have had Australia’s indie scene charmed since the release of acclaimed third album “Structures & Cosmetics” through Sub Pop in 2007, with sunshine shout-along “B.A.B.Y” becoming a staple at indie club nights. The new album, “Paper Dolls”, features new pop gem favourites “Red Roller Skates” and “In Colour”.
Since landing the opening slot for The Shins’ five-week US tour in 2005, The Brunettes have played shows with fellow pop darlings Rilo Kiley, The Postal Service and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Their recent eight-show tour in Australia included shows with Sarah Blasko, and now with their new album “Paper Dolls” in the bag and ready for release, The Brunettes will hit the ground running with another ten shows in Australia with Whitley.
