Listen To Meg Mac’s Killer New Single ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves’

Melbourne singer-songwriter Meg Mac knocked it out of the park with her recent stunning cover of Broods’ track Bridges and now in the lead up to her forthcoming debut EP MEGMAC the neo-soul powerhouse is streaming her latest soulful single Roll Up Your Sleeves.

This new single follows up tracks Known Better and Every Lie and it’s laced with as much bluesy soul as its predecessors. Led by a simple driving piano, McInerny’s powerful and soaring vocals demand all the attention.

The 23-year-old siren known to her mum as Megan McInerny is Melbourne based, but inspired by the soul music synonymous with Memphis and Detroit and the Irish folk ballads sung by her mother. Ms Mac was tipped as part of triple j’s Next Crop list after winning the Unearthed Falls Festival competition last year, tagging her as one to watch in 2014.

“I kind of wrote Roll Up Your Sleeves from myself to myself,” says Meg. “I do really think that everything is gonna be alright. I’m one of those people who hide away when I am sad so I had to sing it to myself so I remembered.”

Roll Up Your Sleeves is taken from Meg Mac’s forthcoming debut EP MEGMAC, slated for an August 2014 release on littleBIGMAN Records through Inertia.
