The Vines Announce New Double LP, Stream ‘Out The Loop’

The Vines have unveiled the details of their sixth studio album, Wicked Nature, and shared a new song, Out The Loop, via SoundCloud. Billed as the Sydney garage rock greats’ first independent album, Wicked Nature is out 2nd September and is available for pre-order via PledgeMusic now.

Readers can check out a trailer for the highly anticipated release, the band’s first since 2011’s Future Primitive, below. The trailer features a section of Out The Loop, which is available for streaming below. The album’s first official single, Metalzone, will be released Monday, 14th July.

The album, “made for the fans,” is a double-LP featuring 22 tracks, with the first disc co-produced by frontman Craig Nicholls and producer Paul McKercher — best known for working with such Australian greats as You Am I and Eskimo Joe — with Nicholls taking full control of the second.

Last month, the band took to Facebook to announce their imminent return with new bass player Tim John and drummer Lachy West, as well as a new logo. An Instagram post from West in late 2012 confirmed that the band had been recording at Sydney’s 301 Studio and had “finished mixing.”

Fans who pre-order the album now will receive three new songs as an instant download, while the band have arranged a number of different prize packages, including a very special ‘Original Lyric Sheet Pack’, featuring framed handwritten and signed original lyric sheets for a pledge of $420.
