Tom DeLonge Reconfirms New Blink-182 Album, Apologises For Delay

Blink-182 guitarist and vocalist Tom Delonge has taken to Instagram to confirm that a new Blink-182 album is definitely on the way, and has also apologised for the delays which have tested the collective patience of Blink’s fans.

Delonge’s Instagram post (below) features some youthful photos of the guitarist and his band mates Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, accompanied by the caption, “Rehearsals start today… And yes there will be a new album #SorryForTheWait #Blink.”

Blink’s seventh studio album, and first full-length release since 2011’s Neighborhoods, is still without any official release date. Delonge revealed in May 2013 that the band had already started working on new material, before the band later said that they would have a new record out by mid-2014, which evidently fell through.

In late 2013 Blink said that they wanted to have new material out before Reading and Leeds Festival, before Hoppus revealed on Twitter that the band were working on demos during the early months of 2014.

Drummer Travis Barker later claimed that the band had to “get their shit together” before they could actually record a new album. In April, Hoppus implied that DeLonge might be the reason for the album’s delay. Who to believe?

So sit tight, Blink fans. We know you’ve been through a lot. Here’s hoping good things come to those who wait. And wait.
