Slipknot Share Creepy Teaser Video Ahead Of New Album Release

Just weeks after Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor revealed that the band’s new album is “98 percent done,” the band have shared mysterious new images and a teaser clip via their website and social media channels. Among the media shared is a new version of the band’s iconic nonagram.

According to Metal Hammer, the clip was posted to the official Slipknot Facebook, along with an updated profile picture and cover image, as well as a selection of stills from the mysterious video. The clip was then shortly taken down, though a slightly different version remains on their Instagram.

Meanwhile, an update to the official Slipknot website presents visitors with a new welcome screen featuring the updated nonagram as well as flashes of video and sounds from the clip. The URL of the site has also changed to negative.slipknot1.com, leading to speculation about a possible song title.

Speaking to the Loudwire Nights With Full Metal Jackie radio show earlier this month, frontman Taylor confirmed that the band’s new album was being mixed and that there would a “big announcement soon,” adding, “Big things to hear soon… The plan is to just slowly but surely get people to lose their minds for the next couple of months with just little stuff here and there leaked.”

The band’s fifth studio album will be their first since the death of bassist Paul Gray and the departure of drummer Joey Jordison. According to Blabbermouth, the band is rumoured to have recruited Jay Weinberg, son of E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg, to play drums on the new album.
