Glass Animals Stream Their Reworked Kanye Cover

Following the rapturous response received after their triple j Like A Version performance earlier this year, UK outfit Glass Animals have officially released their cover of Kanye West‘s 2008 hit, Love Lockdown.

“Love Lockdown as a basic song is so well-written,” frontman Dave Bayley told Billboard. “Kanye took it in one direction and did it his way with the Auto-tune and the mechanical drums, and it is incredible. But we thought it could be cool to push it in a different direction.”

Their reworked version of Yeezy’s 2008 track taken from his record 808s & Heartbreak has become a live staple for the UK band and now features on their latest EP Pools. The EP also features three remixes of their single Pools, one each by Jackson And His Computer Band, Roosevelt, and Kwes.

Glass Animals’ debut album Zaba was released in June this year. Drummer Joe Seaward told Music Feeds the record captured a moment in time for the young band. “I think one of the reasons I’m proud of what we’ve done is because I feel like, when I listen to it now, it feels like it was a really brilliant snapshot of us as a band at that time… we wanted to be able to put down the best bits of us on a record, but also capture us at a point in time,” he explained.
