Slipknot Unveil Their Second Creepy Video Teaser

Slipknot have followed-up their mysterious and rather creepy online activity earlier this week by posting a new video and set of images to their social media pages. However, unlike the previous media, these come with a mysterious caption: “The Prescient/The Nascent/The Quotient.”

On Wednesday, a clip was posted to the official Slipknot Facebook, along with an updated profile picture –– a new version of the band’s nonagram — cover image, and a selection of stills from the video. The clip was quickly taken down, though a slightly different version remained on Instagram.

Most fans have now interpreted the creepy vids as teasers building towards an official album or single announcement. The band’s fifth studio album will be their first without bassist Paul Gray or drummer Joey Jordison. The band is rumoured to have recruited Jay Weinberg, son of E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg, to fill Jordison’s role on the presently untitled new album.

Speaking to the Loudwire Nights With Full Metal Jackie radio show earlier this month, frontman Corey Taylor said the band’s new album was being mixed and that there would a “big announcement soon,” adding, “Big things to hear soon… The plan is to just slowly but surely get people to lose their minds for the next couple of months with just little stuff here and there leaked.”
