After taking a year off in 2014, Melbourne-based music and arts festival Sugar Mountain has confirmed its triumphant 2015 return, and will occupy the date typically reserved for the Big Day Out weekend in Melbourne.
Taking to Facebook this morning, the event organisers announced the boutique festival will be held in Melbourne on Saturday, 24th January 2015. The festival’s new partners, Mushroom Group, also confirmed Sugar Mountain will be moving from its former home at the Forum Theatre to a yet-to-be-revealed new venue.
Upon announcing their partnership with Mushroom in December last year, the team behind the Melbourne boutique music and arts festival teased an announcement for a 2014 instalment of Sugar Mountain. The 2014 festival never eventuated.
No other details about the 2015 event have yet been announced. Previous Sugar Mountain line-ups have featured the likes of Dirty Projectors, Action Bronson, Peanut Butter Wolf, Deerhoof and Tune-Yards, while its visual arts component has showcased the works of Misha Hollenbach, Maya Hayuk, Vincent Moon and Beci Orpin.
