See Rise Against’s Powerful ‘I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore’ Music Video

Rise Against have released an arresting and thought-provoking music video for their single I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore, off their latest album, The Black Market. In the clip, the Chicago punk rock four-piece examine the violence gripping their hometown and the rest of the world.

Directed by documentary filmmaker Nico Sabenorio, the clip uses powerful images of children and families whose lives have been touched by Chicago’s rampant gun crime, intercut with performance footage of the band, and of news footage covering issues such as the Boko Haram kidnappings.

Music Feeds spoke to Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath earlier this month, who promised Australian fans that they’d be seeing the band soon. McIlrath followed-up his comments during a recent appearance on Triple J, saying RA’s return to Australian shores has been penciled in for February and March 2015. The comments have fuelled speculation RA are returning to Australia for Soundwave 2015.
