Coolio Addresses Alleged PornHub Partnership

Coolio has denied reports that he has launched a partnership with adult streaming site PornHub to release all of his new music. Earlier this week, a report by TMZ alleged that the West Coast hip-hop veteran was partnering with the adult site in exchange for dancers in his latest music video.

“I don’t know why TMZ always has to do that bullshit,” said Coolio. “I let them into the video shoot willingly and then the first thing they do is talk bullshit about me and try to make me look bad. They were trying to say it was my comeback. I ain’t trying to make no fuckin’ comeback off some porn.”

Speaking to Rolling Stone, the rapper said that TMZ “made [the reports] up completely” and that his track Take it to the Hub was done as a promo for the site. Coolio recounted how he met a PornHub executive at an adult entertainment awards show and agreed to do a promotional single for them.

“I’m never doing a new album,” the rapper continued. “I’ll probably do nothing but singles. I’m as good as anybody out there lyrically and conceptually and can go toe to toe with the best of them throughout history. But I don’t know how much longer I’ll be doing it. It’s not really fun anymore.”

However, Coolio said he would be willing to make a new album, and partner exclusively with PornHub, if the site offers him enough money. “If they pay me enough money, fuck yeah, I’ll do an album exclusively for PornHub. At this point in my career, I don’t have nothing to prove to nobody.”

The I’ll C U When U Get There rapper will be heading Down Under at the end of the month to kick off a huge run of Australian dates at the Karova Lounge in Ballarat. A frequent traveller to our side of the globe, Coolio was recently here to perform as part of the 2013/2014 instalment of Falls Festival.
