Meredith Music Festival 2014 Lineup

With the annual ticket ballot now closed, it’s time for the organisers of Meredith Music Festival 2014 to put smiles on the faces of punters and announce this year’s lineup. 2014 will see the Supernatural Amphitheatre graced by the likes of The War On Drugs, Ty Segall, and De La Soul.

As always, no matter what your taste, Aunty Meredith has you covered. This year’s lineup has a good serving of indie and garage rock, with sets from Mark Lanegan, Augie March, Cloud Nothings, and The Lemonheads, and Ghostface Killah helming the hip-hop contingent, electronic noise from James Holden and Vakula, and even some hard rock goodness from Sleep.

This year’s Meredith lineup is a totally fresh cast, with each act bar one special case a totally new arrival to The Sup’. The roster is once again a culmination of organisers’ commitment to providing “the ultimate 3-day, 2-night, 4-D cascading audio-visual roller coaster” for their punters.

Organisers gave us a taste of what was to come back in July, when they announced the opening of the ticket ballot and confirmed their first act for the 2014 lineup – The War On Drugs. The Philadelphia indie rockers will return to capitalise on lauded stints at Falls and Harvest festivals.

Of course, organisers know that it’s not just the lineup that makes a festival. To that end, they recently renewed their commitment to their punters: “We guarantee we will continue to listen, fix things if they don’t work, not fix the ain’t brokens and Keep On Making Meredith AmaZinger.”

As part of that commitment to the festivalgoer’s experience, organisers will be carrying over 2013’s well-received capacity restrictions into 2014. Last year saw the steadfastly boutique event reduce the amount of punters going through the gates by 500, with the cap to remain in place this year.

Also sticking around is Meredith’s traditional “One Stage Fits All,” uniquely BYO environment, where everyone still camps, and the BBQ is the Community Tucker Tent (with profits going to local community groups). Oh, and Aunty Meredith’s strict No Dickhead Policy is still very much in place.

And with the lineup now unveiled, fans can get excited about the string of sideshows sure to be coming their way soon. Headline dates for The War On Drugs have already been announced, with Adam Granduciel and co set to play shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne this December.

As per usual, the annual ballot ensures most tickets go to subscribers. The next round of ballot results will be issued Thursday, 21st August. There’s only one type of ticket and that’s the Full Meredith Experience, priced at $318.80 + $10 booking. Check below for all the details.

UPDATE 14/08/14 5:04pm AEST: Aunty has delivered an updated list of banned items for this year’s festival, and it includes a particularly controversial piece of headgear. Full details here.
