2014 Gorgeous Festival Lineup Announced

The fittingly named Gorgeous Festival will return to South Australia’s McLaren Vale this year and has unveiled its stellar 2014 lineup, led by Australian roots music treasures Xavier Rudd, The Waifs and The Beautiful Girls.

The two-time ARIA nominated Xavier Rudd has become one of the country’s most iconic voices since his debut 2002 album To Let. His characteristic one-man-band set-up and positive message of social conscience is sure to entrance festival-goers.

Having taken some time off touring, blues and roots favourites The Waifs will return to home soil to perform favourite tracks spanning their 20 year career, while The Beautiful Girls will introduce the crowd to fresh cuts from their new album Dancehall Days, due to be released on October 3rd.

Also named on the sweet, roots-driven line is Busby Marou, Little May, The Cairos and a trio of Canadian acts in Elliott Brood, Kim Wempe and Tim Chaisson. Other local acts include Timberwolf, The Timbers, Echo & Empress and Rin McArdle.

The 2014 Gorgeous Festival will take place at Serafino Winery from November 28th-29th, and will introduce the event’s inaugural long-table dinner on the Friday night. Festival Director Alistair Cranney says the new-look festival broadens the appeal of the already

popular event.

“While we’ve always incorporated premium regional food and wine into our offering, we’re going one step further this year by introducing ‘Gorgeous Table’ on the Friday evening, details of which will be announced soon,” he said.

Tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks, beginning with mailing list members next Monday. Two day passes and camping facilities will be available.
