Damien Jurado September Australian Tour Cancelled

Seattle native and indie rocker Damien Jurado has regretfully cancelled his upcoming September Australian tour, which included a set on this year’s Brisbane Festival, due to an injury.

According to his management team, Jurado is “heartbroken”. “Touring Australia has been one of his biggest dreams but he cannot play the shows at this point in time. We hope to make it up to fans in the near future,” they said in a statement.

This was to be Jurado’s debut Australian tour and along with his scheduled Brisbane Festival performance, the psychedelic folk musician was due to play three sideshows for Melbourne and Sydney audiences. Refunds for the shows will be available from the point of purchase.

The annual Brisbane Festival will take place on September 6th and goes through until September 27th this year. Returning this year is the world-famous Spiegeltent, which will host the likes of Phil Jamieson, Andy Bull, Midnight Juggernauts, Miami Horror and The Kite String Tangle. See the full lineup here.

UPDATE 02/09/14: Meg Mac will now play at The Telstra Spiegeltent on Sunday, 21st September as part of the upcoming Brisbane Festival, replacing Damien Jurado’s scheduled set. See ticket details here.
