Miley-Headlined iHeartRadio Australia Music Festival Cancelled

Just weeks after it was announced, the inaugural iHeart Radio Australia Music Festival has been abruptly cancelled after organisers couldn’t secure a third headline act.

The pop festival, set to take place on Saturday 18th October at Allphones Arena in Sydney, was supposed to be headlined by Miley Cyrus while she is in the country on her national Bangerz tour, with a little help from the party rockin’ Redfoo.

According to a statement issued by promoters Dainty Group, the cancellation comes as “a consequence of the unavailability of another headline act, due to be announced this week”. Other acts on the lineup were Australian pop rockers At Sunset, Ghana-born, Aussie-bred MC Miracle, Sydney DJ duo The Faders and Gold Coast pop-star Cody Simpson.

Danity says that customers who purchased tickets via credit card, or a Visa or MasterCard debit card will be automatically refunded. Those who purchased tickets with cash or eftpos will need to post their tickets back to Ticketek, with a small note outlining your request for a full refund. See the statement below for a postal address.

The event takes its name from the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, which has has run as a two-day festival since 2011. The Sydney festival was instead supposed to take place on just one day over six hours.
