Adelaide Justin Timberlake Fans Stung By Fake Tickets

South Australia police have arrested a man for allegedly making and selling fake tickets to Justin Timberlake‘s concert in Adelaide. Police say they were notified about the scheme from people who were turned away from Timberlake’s Adelaide show after purchasing fake tickets via online classifieds.

South Australia police said that victims of the scam arranged to meet the seller at various locations and paid in cash for the printed copies of the fake tickets. While police say they looked authentic, they were just copies of original tickets and buyers were refused entry at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre concert over the last two nights.

The 30-year-old Woodville Park man was arrested on Monday, 22nd September and charged with several counts of deception. He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 15th October.

It’s unknown what price the man was charging, but an image shared by police shows the tickets were for the elevated seating section of the arena, priced at $269.90. Police are warning punters about the risks of purchasing tickets from non-official sources as the validity of tickets that are purchased privately cannot be accurately verified.

Justin Timberlake continues the Australian run of his 20/20 Experience World Tour, his first trip to Oz in seven years, at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Friday, followed by shows in Sydney and Perth.

Anyone who has been a victim of this or other similar incidents should report it to the police assistance line on 131 444.
