Hear Lisa Mitchell’s New Song ‘Wah Ha’ And Download For Free

Australian indie darling Lisa Mitchell has offered up a new tune, titled Wah Ha, which, for a limited time, is available for free download via Soundcloud.

Written on the back of a receipt during a summer family vacay, Wah Ha is a lighter-than-air folk ditty with a central message that it’s OK not to feel OK. “Do you ever get tired of having to be ok all the time?” Mitchell posed in an attached letter. “I sure do. Heres to them feels.”

Mitchell also notes that when performing Wah Ha it makes her feel better, “I notice a certain kind of lightness fills the room. The lyric takes some weight off my shoulders.”

Mitchell adds that although “the new album [is] on the table”, presumably the follow-up to 2012’s Bless This Mess, she “just couldn’t wait any longer to make contact again,” with her fan base. “Releasing Wah Ha makes me feel a bit like ET reaching his finger out into the abyss, hoping to find another…”

Wah Ha is available for free download for one month. You can listen to Mitchell’s new tune, and read her attached letter, below.
