Acclaimed soul-singing diva Adele has been showed major respect from one of the greatest voices of all time, Aretha Franklin, with the original soul queen sharing her earth-shattering cover of Adele’s 2010 grammy-award winning hit Rolling in the Deep.

On the track, the legendary Queen of Soul unleashes her powerful rasp and impressive vocal runs, at one point even blending in the chorus from Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s 1967 mowtown classic Ain’t No Mountain High Enough. If imitation is indeed the highest form of flattery, Adele just got a whopper of an accolade.

The song is the first single from the 72-year-old Franklin’s new cover album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, which will see Franklin take on, and likely dominate, classic songs from other “great divas” that have been released throughout her career.

The album’s track list includes covers of Franklin’s contemporaries such as Etta James, Gloria Gaynor, Gladys Knight and The Pips and The Supremes as well as more modern diva hits such as Sinéad O’Connor‘s 1990 track Nothing Compares 2 U and Alicia Keys‘ 2007 hit No One.

The album was co-produced by Franklin, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Outkast‘s André 3000 and is due out late October. Check out the impressive cover and see the album’s full track list below.
