Bring Me The Horizon Shake Things Up With New Single ‘Drown’

Bring Me The Horizon have released their new single and accompanying music video, Drown, and it’s fair to say it’s not the BMTH we’ve come to know and love.

Drown is the first new material from the British metalcore heroes since their massive 2013 LP Sempiternal, but don’t expect to hear any Oliver Sykes screams follow them from that album. Loudwire reports Drown is meant to “bridge the gap” between Sempiternal and BMTH’s fifth studio album, expected out in 2015. Is this what we can expect to hear from BMTH from now on?

The clip sees the band’s take on an Ed Sullivan-esque talk show performance, playing stiffly for an audience of patients suffering from various ailments. As the story progresses BMTH are seen struggling to shake off the signs of early onset lycanthropy and a case of the invisibilities. It’s all very Backstreet Boys, if you ask us.

Fans are no doubt eager for anything new from BMTH, after Sempiternal won the Album of the Year award at this year’s Alternative Press Music Awards. During the acceptance speech BMTH frontman Oli Sykes bravely admitted to being a former drug addict and thanked his family, friends, and fans for their continued support.

BMTH is also set to record another new original track as part of Zane Lowe’ curated soundtrack for film Drive.

Drown will be officially released later this year.
