Oh Lily, Learn Thy Lesson

Having learned nothing from the debacle concerning her confused and ill-received anti-piracy blog, Lily Allen has once again shown a complete lack of understanding when it comes to the real issues surrounding music piracy.

Speaking on Key103 radio Manchester, Lily said “if someone comes up with a burnt copy of my CD and offers it to you for £4 I haven’t a problem with that as long as the person buying it places some kind of value on my music.”

Lily doesn’t mind if you burn copies of her CD and sell them, as long as you don’t give them away free. Apparently money is equivalent to value in Lily’s head. One wonders if this attitude is common amongst sheltered celebrities.

Lily shut down her anti-piracy blog after receiving hundreds of comments ridiculing her stance. Lily made this final post before shutting down: “Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record. I do, however, remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade.”
