Watch Arcade Fire’s Low Budget Horror Film Starring The National, Fleet Foxes & More

It’s Halloween in North America and so of course dress-up loving, Canadian indie rockers Arcade Fire have made a bizarre, 21-minute horror flick. Titled Festi, the movie also features a star-studded cast including James Murphy, Fleet Foxes, The National, Peter Gabriel, Andrew Garfield, and more.

Festi, was directed by “Noreen Bauble”, a name which fans will recognise as one of the Arcade Fire’s previously-used pseudonyms, and begins as a benign look back at their 2011 summer festival tour.

Celebrations are underway for Will Butler’s 27th birthday but as the curse of the 27 Club looms, thing start to take a turn for the worse. Bodies begin to fall as Will is haunted by Jim Morrison‘s ghost, who utters the phrase, “These guys won a fucking Grammy?”

The National make a guest appearance as creepy twins, James Murphy plays the role of “sad DJ” and Slash, or at least a Slash dead ringer, gets his vengeance. Spooky!

This is of course not Arcade Fire’s first foray into the film world. Last week, it was revealed that Arcade Fire’s Win Butler has contributed to the score of a new documentary about a Barack Obama impersonator, Bronx Obama, following-up his Oscar-nominated score to the Spike Jonze film Her.
