The Rolling Stones Cancel Hanging Rock Show

The Rolling Stones will not make their scheduled appearance at tomorrow’s show at Victoria’s Hanging rock because frontman Mick Jagger is suffering from a throat infection.

Frontier Touring have released a statement confirming that Jagger is “under strict doctor’s orders to rest his vocal chords for the next few days” and therefore the Hanging Rock show, set to take place tomorrow, Saturday November 8th, will not go ahead.

“The Rolling Stones are incredibly disappointed to cancel the Hanging Rock gig and to disappoint their fans but were left with no other option,” reads the statement. There is no mention of a potential rescheduling of the gig in the statement.

All fans who purchased through Ticketmaster will receive a refund on their tickets for the Hanging Rock show. See the statement below for more details.

The Rolling Stones have three other dates left on their Australian 14 On Fire tour, including stops in Sydney next Wednesday, 12th November, Hunter Valley on Saturday, 15th November and Brisbane on Tuesday, 18th November. At this stage those dates are expected to go ahead.

UPDATE 7/11/14 11.47am: According to a tweet by the Herald Sun’s Cameron Adams, the promoter has said due to the Stones’ commitments after their New Zealand shows, which will follow their final Australian show in Brisbane, they will be unable to reschedule the Hanging Rock gig.
