Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Teams With Mark Ronson For Funky New Track ‘Daffodils’

A new dancefloor-friendly track from English musician Mark Ronson has made its debut, and it’s an absolute killer. What’s more, the song, titled Daffodils, features some typically hypnotic vocals from Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker.

Daffodils got its premiere on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show overnight. After rising above some swelling synthesizers, the track’s Chic-esque guitars and four-on-the-floor beat are joined by Parker’s wispy vocals. There’s an undeniable disco vibe which is only intensified by a screeching guitar solo.

As Stereogum note, Parker provides vocals on three tracks from Ronson’s forthcoming album Uptown Special, which is currently set for release in January. Parker also contributes some instrumentation to several other tracks.

Tame Impala have also debuted new material as they continue their US tour, recently performing a pulsing new instrumental jam in New York. This could be a taste of things to come on the band’s new album, or just a nice little impromptu chord progression. Either way, a clever fan captured the moment, which can be streamed alongside Daffodils below.
