Blink 182’s Tom DeLonge Picks Up Film Festival Award

Tom DeLonge of both Blink 182 and Angels And Airwaves, has announced his animated film Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker has picked up an award for Best Animation at this year’s Toronto International Short Film Festival.

DeLonge co-directed the film, alongside Sergio and Edgar Martins, and it will be accompanied by Angels & Airwaves’ forthcoming fifth studio album, The Dream Walker, due out in early December. Recently, the band unveiled the new video for the album’s track, The Wolfpack, as well as a brand new song Bullets In The Wind.

“I appreciate all of those who have gone to AngelsAndAirwaves.com and purchased the limited edition items associated with this project,” wrote DeLonge in a Facebook post announcing the win. “It is supporting a lot of great artists involved in this project. This is only the beginning for Poet… Next the novel, and then… The feature film.”

Last month Magnetic Press announced that they are producing and publishing Tom DeLonge’s original graphic novel series entitled POET. The comic series will serve as a prequel introduction to the universe explored in both DeLonge’s film and the Angels & Airwaves album.

The three-issue series will debut both digitally and in print later in 2015. The Dream Walker film is set to debut in the US with the Angels & Airwaves album release on December 9th.
