Hear A Preview Of Lana Del Rey’s New Song ‘Big Eyes’

Having already proved her knack for crafting cinema-ready tunes, Lana Del Rey is back in the movie soundtrack game, penning two songs for the upcoming Tim Burton film Big Eyes, the title track for which has been previewed today.

A snippet of the new song, Big Eyes, can be heard in a new lyric video and trailer for the film, via Yahoo. Similar to her other soundtrack contributions, the song features Del Rey’s distinctly breathy vocals laid over crescendoing orchestral arrangements.

According to Billboard, the track is featured prominently at a critical juncture mid-way through the film where, the film’s producer and co-writer Larry Karaszewski says, “it almost becomes a musical. Lana’s song expresses what Margaret is feeling so perfectly, it’s like a soliloquy of her inner thoughts.”

The forthcoming film, directed by Tim Burton, is about American artist Margaret Keane, whose iconic paintings in 1950s and ’60s of big-eyed children were falsely credited to her husband at the time, Walter Keane. Del Rey also contributed another song to the film, a yet to be released track entitled I Can Fly, which is expected to play during the film’s credits.

It was also reported this week that Lana Del Rey will be heading out on tour in 2015, playing at least eight shows across the US alongside Hole’s Courtney Love. Watch the Big Eyes preview video below.
