UPDATE: Triple J’s Hottest 100 is underway! Keep up to date with live updates and milestones here.

Voting for triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2014 will officially open at 8am next Monday, 15th December, giving music fans one week to jot down their favourite tracks from the past 12 months.

If this recent poll of triple j listeners is anything to go by, the 2014 Hottest 100 is going to be another huge year for Australian artists, with acts such as Chet Faker, The Preatures, Ball Park Music and Hilltop Hoods sure to rack up multiple inclusions on the list.

Traditionally, the public have 30 days to offer up their top songs after voting begins, with the full countdown being played song-by-song on triple j on Australia Day.

The Hottest 100 of 2013 was topped by Vance Joy’s runaway hit Riptide, and also saw huge hits from Lorde, Daft Punk, Arctic Monkeys, Lana Del Rey and The Preatures claim spots in the top ten after 1,492,619 votes were cast from people in 169 different countries.

Sit and stare at the countdown on the triple j voting page — or kill the time by reliving past years’ Hottest 100 lists via the same page. Watch Vance Joy play last year’s winning track live at Music Feeds Studio, below.
