Coldplay Share New Song ‘Miracles’

While Coldplay take up in the studio working on their seventh, and possibly final, studio album, the band have shared a new piano-driven track Miracles, their contribution to Angelina Jolie’s World War II film Unbroken.

The uplifting and typically anthemic song is band’s first piece of new music since their last LP Ghost Stories, released earlier this year. It was written for the Jolie-directed movie, filmed in Australia, about Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II. The film’s soundtrack is due to be released in the US on Monday, 15th December.

Recently, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin confirmed the band are already working on the Ghost Stories follow-up album, titled A Head Full of Dreams, hinting that it may be their last.

“It’s our seventh thing and the way we look at it it’s like the last Harry Potter book. That’s not to say there won’t be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something,” he explained. “I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing,” he added. “Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
