EXCLUSIVE: Spirit Valley Unveil Debut Album Details, Tour Dates And Share New Single

Sydney rock duo Spirit Valley have released a brand-new single, whilst also announcing their debut album and locking in an Australian headline tour.

Spirit Valley, aka mates Dave Tomlinson and Chris Stabback, have shared Moonrocks (below), the fuzzed-out “moonrock haze” which acts as the first taste of their debut full-length, Give Trance A Chance.

Moonrocks takes listeners on a sarcastically trippy journey across a psychedelic land. The track’s heavy riffs and danceable percussion rise and fall in intensity with the song’s narrative, with plenty of guitar noise thrown in for good measure. View the single’s official artwork, below.

Give Trance A Chance was recorded over four days in Linear Studios with Wade Keighran, who now plays with Wolf & Cub after some time with The Scare. Give Trance A Chance comes complete with 49 minutes of what Spirit Valley like to call “doomshine boogie” and “pirate psych”, inspired by bands such as The Black Angels, Murder City Devils, Japandroids and Explosions In The Sky. The album will see a digital release on 27th February.

Since their 2013 EP Death, Spirit Valley have supported dance rockers Metric, played spots at PsychFest and Chopped, and also performed at Surry Hills Festival. The duo are now prepped to get on the road for an east coast Australian tour through March, before relocating to Europe.

The pair’s Australian tour begins in Wollongong on Thursday, 5th March, and will include shows in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Fitzroy. The Melbourne performance will also feature Wolf & Cub.

Details of Spirit Valley’s Give Trance A Chance Tour are available below. Moonrocks can be downloaded over at the Spirit Valley Bandcamp page.
