MC Dusk Shares New Song ‘Evolve’, Featuring Jane Tyrrell

Aussie actor and rapper Abbie Cornish, aka MC Dusk, has shared yet another cut from her forthcoming debut EP, Key of the Sun. The song, Evolve, features vocals from Melbourne musician Jane Tyrrell.

The fresh track follows the release of Dusk’s other EP cut, Way Back Home, just over a week ago. Evolve is an aggressive push-pull affair, verses packed with Dusk’s quick-fire spit over a skittering, super-tight beat.

Tyrrell’s typically graceful vocals wash in with a hook to open up Evolve‘s choruses before we slam back into Dusk’s impressive rhymes. We’ve also got a touch of piano, strings and a blistering distorted solo — from what sounds like a violin — towards the end of the track.

Dusk’s official website notes that Key of the Sun will be a six-track EP featuring contributions from Adelaide rappers Hilltop Hoods.

Dusk has been supporting American rapper Nas throughout his Australian Illmatic tour, which finishes up with a show in Adelaide tonight, Thursday, 29th January. She’ll start work on her debut album after the EP is released and the tour wraps up.
