Music Feeds LIVE: Perfect Pussy Streaming This Wednesday

Syracuse noise rascals Perfect Pussy are in town for Laneway Festival 2015, taking their brand of lo-fi hardcore punk around the country for the very first time. Luckily, the group are taking some time out from a hectic tour schedule for a live-streamed interview with Music Feeds.

Fronted by the palpable energy of frontwoman Meredith Graves, Perfect Pussy released their debut album Say Yes To Love in March 2014, and haven’t slowed down since. Not afraid of speaking her mind, Graves has become a talking point in the music media, but the coverage hasn’t taken focus away from the band’s music.

Speaking with Music Feeds recently, the group’s engineer/sound manipulator/keyboardist Shaun Sutkus took a break from recording new material with Graves to explain the group’s headspace.

“If people want to fucking attack [Graves] for something that she believes in… that’s bullshit. That’s not cool,” Sutkus said.

“People don’t agree with each other. That’s okay. There should be disagreeing in the world. People should not like our band. People should hate our band. I don’t get upset about it – I want people to think whatever the fuck they want. You can be an asshole or you can be a good person – it’s your choice to make.”

Already one of the most talked-about acts of 2015, Perfect Pussy have impressed Aussie crowds with their volatile punk energy and strong idealism. The group will play their final Laneway Festival sideshow in Sydney on Wednesday, 4th February, before hitting Adelaide, Melbourne and Fremantle with the festival this weekend.

Before then, however, they’ll be stopping by for a chat. So tune in right here after 12:45pm AEDT this Wednesday, 4th February, when Perfect Pussy sit down for an interview.
