Eardrum-destroying Japanese noisemakers Boris have announced their return to Australian shores, backed by their latest album, the appropriately titled Noise. The group’s Live Noise Alive tour will hit Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth this May and June.
Boris last toured Australia in 2013, when they played their classic drone album Flood in full for the first time down under. The prolific three-piece now have tracks from Noise to show off, including the album single Vanilla (below). Noise can also be streamed in full via Bandcamp, below.
Boris will be performing tracks from their super-impressive back catalogue of noise rock, which has seen the band release 19 albums released in as many years. The group’s live shows are a pummeling concoction of riffs, drone and hypnotic acoustic sludge, so take it from us — you’ll need some earplugs.
Boris’ Live Noise Alive Australian tour begins in Brisbane on Wednesday, 27th May. Tour and ticket details are available below.
