A Foo Fighters Side Project Is Playing A Surprise Australian Show Tomorrow

In what will come as a great surprise for Foo Fighters and Taylor Hawkins fans, Hawkins’ cover band Chevy Metal will play a free show tomorrow at the opening of the 2015 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour on the Gold Coast.

The band, which also features Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett and keyboardist Rami Jaffee, will take to Snapper Rocks to cover classics by Rolling Stones, Queen, The Police, Black Sabbath, Van Halen and plenty more.

If you’re near the Gold Coast tomorrow, Friday, 6th March, then get down Snapper Rocks at 4:30pm to catch Hawkins and the gang in action.

The performance is in aid of raising awareness for the Mauli Ola Foundation who are helping individuals living with genetic diseases.

Foo Fighters are, of course, currently in Australia playing huge arena shows as part of their Sonic Highways Tour. They have a few days break until their final show of the tour in Perth on 8th March, after playing in Adelaide last night.
