Courtney Barnett Is Going On ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’

Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett is set to bring her unique voice to the US daytime television audience, with a live performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week.

The Australian songstress will appear on this Monday’s episode of the show, an episode that will also feature Scandal actress Bellamy Young and FLOTUS herself, Michelle Obama. Obviously that means a White House gig isn’t far off.

Barnett’s Ellen appearance follows fellow Australian Chet Faker’s performance on the talk show earlier this year.

While in the States, Barnett will play at Austin’s South By Southwest conference, showcasing her forthcoming debut full length album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, due for Australian release on Friday 20th March.

Following the album release Barnett will be dropping a special Kim’s Caravan 12 inch vinyl for Record Store Day, featuring the track of the same name taken from her debut album, as well as a cover of John Cale’s Close Watch.

Barnett is set to take her debut full length record on a home-turf tour this May.

She recently played as part of Australia’s Golden Plains festival, where she debuted a new track Aqua Profunda! helped along by some lively back-up dancers. Let’s hope they’re making a trip to Ellen too.
