Waxahatchee Announces Debut Australian Tour

Katie Crutchfield, otherwise known as indie folk alchemist Waxahatchee, gathered even more fans to her ever swelling coterie last week at SXSW 2015, and now she’s set to enchant Australian audiences this July on her debut Australian tour.

The Long Island artist will release her third album, Ivy Tripp, on 10th April, following 2013’s critically acclaimed Cerulean Salt, meaning we’ll have a lot of catching up to do when the two-date tour hits intimate venues in Sydney and Melbourne.

Of the new record, Crutchfield says, “I think a running theme is steadying yourself on shaky ground and reminding yourself that you have control in situations that seem overwhelming, or just being cognizant in moments of deep confusion or sadness, and learning to really feel emotions and to grow from that.”

The album is preceded by the single Under A Rock (below), which has been getting some solid rotation on triple j of late. Tickets to Waxahatchee’s first ever Australian shows are on sale now. Details below.
