Blur Announce Huge Australian Arena Shows With Jamie T

Not only are Blur returning to Australian shores this July to headline Splendour In The Grass 2015, the Brit-pop legends are also giving us a bit of extra action on the side, with a handful of arena-sized headlining sideshows to coincide with the festival just announced.

Blur will perform three dates across Australian arenas in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth both leading up to and following their headlining set at Splendour on Sunday, 26th July.

The band will come armed with their first new album in 12 years, The Magic Whip, which has just been unleashed today.

Blur’s freshly announced sideshows spell excellent news for Aussie fans, whose broken hearts are still mending after the band infamously cancelled their Big Day Out headlining slot last year. Splendour itself sold out in less than an hour yesterday.

Supporting Blur at all shows will be UK singer-songwriter Jamie T. His run at Splendour marks his second visit to our shores in just six months, after visiting us back in January for a headline tour. His latest album, Carry on the Grudge, was released just last year.

A packed arena losing their shit to Song 2? Yeah, that’s something to see. Shows like this come around only once in a very long while so if you’re at all inclined, get yourself there.
