The Delta Riggs And Remi Are Releasing A Song Together

Apparently, while we weren’t looking Melbourne rockers The Delta Riggs and award-winning MC Remi have been secretly making music together, and they’ve now revealed to fans that a new collaborative track is dropping very soon.

Punters at Bendigo’s Groovin The Moo this past weekend got a glimpse into what a Riggs/Remi collab will feel like, after the Melbourne MC made a surprise appearance during the band’s festival set. Taking to social media afterwards, The Delta Riggs thanked Remi for the guest spot, while also confirming that they’re “gonna drop a track together real soon”.

Delta Riggs bassist Michael Tramonte told triple j the song will be a re-work of the band’s track Hey Victor, which featured on their exclusive Record Store Day 2015 release Dipz From The Zong.

“We’ve always wanted to do something like that and we love Remi. He’s got such a good positive mindset and when he’s around people, he kind of just boosts the energy up ten-fold. He’s an interesting cat and we’re all big fans, so it was kind of an honour – for him so willingly wanting to do it with us,” said Tramonte.

“It was so much fun having him on stage with us,” he added about the Groovin The Moo onstage guest spot. “I think it weirded a lot of people out at first but then after they kind of computed what was happening, the whole crowd was bouncing.”

Tramonte says they’re still making some “tweaks” to the song, but said they hope to release it

as a standalone track before or around the time they play Splendour In The Grass this year. So stay tuned for that.

In the meantime though, tomorrow Remi will premiere the first track from his newly-announced Call It What You Want mixtape. Then, he’s heading out on tour for a handful of Australian club shows this June. See those dates, here.
