Northlane Have Revealed Details Of New Album ‘Node’ Via Cryptic Twitter Clues

Subscribers to Northlane‘s mailing list got a treat overnight, as the Sydney band have shared with them a link to a brand-new song, titled Ra, as well as cryptic directions that unveil further details about the Sydney band’s forthcoming album.

Subscribers were presented with a link to stream the new track on Soundcloud, and the Soundcloud description contained a link to a Twitter account which features just a single tweet. The tweet includes the message “I am the tear in the gravity” — the first line of Ra — and then links to another Twitter account.

It’s here that we go down a Twitter rabbit hole, with each following tweet revealing more messages and links to Twitter accounts, which seemingly reveal the album’s track list. The last tweet is an image of what looks like album artwork, with a message spelled out in braille.

But, wait, it gets even tricker than that.

If you overlay the cover images on each of those Twitter accounts, you get a nifty URL to a page with a download link to an instrumental version of the new track. Once the track is downloaded, you’ll find a document with the song’s lyrics as well as another image of album artwork, with the title, “Node”, written in English instead of braille.

You’ll have to do your own work for that one, guys.

Northlane recently confirmed they have finished recording their 11-track new album, their first with new vocalist Marcus Bridge, and will be releasing it some time this July.

Have a listen to the new track below, check out the artwork, then have some fun following the first Twitter clue using the tweet below.
