He might not even have kicked off his sold out June east coast run of shows yet, but Ben Lee has just gone ahead and announced an extensive national tour, including special regional and outer city dates, for this October.
Lee’s new run of national dates will kick off on Saturday, 3rd October at Brisbane’s Woolly Mammoth, and will continue on with stops in Melbourne, Cronulla, Newcastle, Thirroul, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
Both his three-date June sojourn, which starts tonight, and the October tour will be in celebration of Ben Lee’s new album Love Is The Great Rebellion, which was released just last week.
“It’s about courage, in a sense,” Lee tolds Music Feeds about his 10th studio album. “We started this conversation talking about things that I’ve done that are polarising and this album is about having the courage to follow your instinct and to do those things.”
Lee’s wife, Ione Skye, makes an appearance on the record, as does his five-year-old daughter Goldie and his father-in-law, ’60s folk icon Donovan.
