Foals Share Snippet Of New Music In “2015” Teaser Video

If a new and very short teaser video is anything to go by, we’ll be seeing fresh Foals tunes sometime this year.

The UK indie rock outfit, who were last on Aussie shores for Splendour In The Grass in 2014, have shared a teaser of new music with a clip (below) called “FOALS // 2015”, which features the band performing before closing with around three seconds of what appears to be new material.

Interestingly, some of Foals’ social media photos — including those on their YouTube channel and Facebook page — were blacked out back in May.

The band’s latest album, Holy Fire, was released in 2013, and in a recent interview with Q, frontman Yannis Philippakis said Foals’ fourth album, which is being produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, HAIM, Mumford & Sons) has been lyrically influenced by Australia’s own Nick Cave, giving it a heavier sound.

“We felt that the spread on Holy Fire was good but on this [album] we wanted to push it out even further, so the extremes were further apart,” Philippakis said. “The heavier songs are heavier, the poppy songs are poppier and weirder.”
