Courtney Love “Held Hostage” By Taxi Drivers During Paris Anti-Uber Protest

Courtney Love has created her own fair share of controversy throughout her career, but this is one situtaion she probably wasn’t planning on being involved in.

While catching an Uber from the airport in Paris, the Hole frontwoman was caught up in an anti-Uber protest and found herself in a car attacked by a “mob of taxi drivers.”

There has been particular unrest between taxi drivers and Uber drivers in Europe for some time, as the ride-share company has been blamed for stalling the taxi industry.

“They’ve ambushed our car and are holding our driver hostage. they’re beating the cars with metal bats. this is France?? I’m safer in Baghdad,” she tweeted.

She then turned her attention to French president François Hollande writing, “François Hollande where are the fucking police??? is it legal for your people to attack visitors? Get your ass to the airport. Wtf???”

Luckily, Love got out safely when she paid motorcyclists to “sneak” her out. At that point she says she had been “held hostage” for an hour.

She later posted a video to Instagram of men surrounding her Uber and trying to get in through the locked doors. She also took the opportunity to accuse the French police of doing nothing about the situation.
