Big Scary Are Working On New Music Expected To Drop This Month

Big Scary singer Tom Iansek is currently wrapping-up his solo #1 Dads tour which will finish at Splendour In The Grass next week, but after that he’s straight back into Big Scary mode.

According to the duo’s label Pieater there’s something brewing over at the Big Scary which will be revealed 28th July. Speaking to triple j, Iansek confirmed that he and drummer Jo Syme are working on the follow-up to 2013’s Not Art.

“That’s probably at the top of the priority list and yeah there’s new music bubbling away there,” he told the station, adding that they were “finishing up recording and mixing soon.”

However he admitted that the album is “probably at a bit more of a gentle simmer at the moment with this Dads tour in full flight.”

The #1 Dads tour has continued to expand, booking a massive five shows at Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory. That makes him the current record holder for the most consecutive shows at the venue, taking the crown from Matt Corby.

Iansek said that it will signal the end of the #1 Dads project for now but he’s not ruling out a return in the future. For those of you heading to Splendour In The Grass, he confirmed that he will be performing his brilliant Like A Version cover of FKA Twigs’ Two Weeks.

Stay tuned for Big Scary’s news coming at you on 28th July. Hopefully we’ll have some new material in our hot little hands.
